Dear PG, There is this guy I have been seeing since the beginning of this year. There is this other girl who is always calling him every now and then. She is on his WhatsApp DP, not me, never been me. After always lying to me about who the girl was, he finally told me she is his girlfriend. He said he is not happy with her, she is young, troublesome and doesn’t want to marry. He wants to marry me because I am also ready to marry. I am worried because everything tells me they are in a serious relationship. They talk for hours, and he always excuses himself him answer her calls. Sometimes I have to wait till I fall asleep, while they talk. He says I should give him end of the year to get rid of the girl. Please, what do I do? Firstly, I am not sure you will be happy if you found out your boyfriend is sleeping with someone else, and telling them a lot of lies about you just so he can feel justified to do what he is doing. You are a woman and you are supposed to watch your sister’s back, not help a man to hurt her. He is lying to you because he has stretched the boundaries and he sees you are coping. Secondly, if the other girl was the kind he was really getting rid of, she won’t be his constant DP while you remain hidden and anonymous to his circles of friends. You are officially the side chick. The main chick is the one on the DP. Snap out of it. Don’t be fooled. Thirdly, if she was that troublesome and loathsome, their calls would be short, full of fights and most often ignored. If they are spending hours on phone, while they queue you up, then it is Poppin'. People in love talk for hours. People out of love, have little to talk about…especially when they are busy loving someone else. If he is not spending hours with you, but with her, then you are the convenient chic. If he really wants you, tell him to go end it with her, and come back. You will be right here at the bus station bracing the cold and waiting for him. If you are desperate for marriage, that will be the right amount of sugar needed for ants to gather around you. Don’t sound desperate to marry; men will take advantage of you. You are basically giving it to him because he pulled the marriage card. You cannot prove if he and this other girl are even half way through their preparations. He will come and tell you, one beautiful Sunday afternoon, that the girl is pregnant and has threatened suicide if he doesn’t marry her. He will break up with you after he has satisfied himself, and run off to marry her a month later like the boss. Walk out girl, I think you deserve better…You should think same too.
